The Way We Work

Lunchbowl operates a food programme feeding approx 450 children in Kibera, Nairobi.
We also educate the minds and feed the tummies of 300 children aged 3-13 in our beautiful kindergarten  and  Good Samaritan Primary School
On a daily basis our network of dedicated carers in Kibera work together to care for the orphaned and vulnerable children.
The highlight of the week is the Saturday Lunch Programme, all our children receive a substantial, hot nutritious meal comprising of  meat, vegetables, rice or chapatti with fruit and milk. Here they have a sanctuary where they can play and rest.
In the UK, significant funding for the Dinner Programme comes through school children engaging their hearts and minds in the issues facing the orphans and then responding by giving a financial donation.
The Lunchbowl Network has a team of School Ambassadors who present assemblies and give personal feedback to supporting schools. If you would like further information for your school please follow our schools resources link.
All our schools workers and admin team are completely voluntary and consequently when you give to Lunchbowl 97.5% of your donation goes directly to helping improve the lives of the orphaned and vulnerable children of Kibera.
