education fund
Donations to our education fund will be used to help fund both Angel Kindergartens and The Good Samaritan Primary School (including teachers, educational resources, food, uniforms, transport and rent). An average of c.£400 per child will provide support for a whole year. £12,000 will fund a class of 30 for a whole year.
The charity currently educates over 500 disadvantaged and vulnerable children who live in the Kibera slum, Nairobi. Our two Angel Kindergartens and one Good Samaritan Primary School are highly effective and provide the children with an oasis where their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual nurturing can be given in a safe and stimulating environment away from the harsh and hostile conditions in Kibera. The needs are desperate but the education and care provision we offer helps significantly to compensate for their highly disadvantaged background. As a charity run by volunteers, we rely totally on donations, sponsorship, grants and corporate support to fund all aspects of the schools (including salaries, rent, educational resources, uniforms, food and transport). We must raise considerable funds every year to ensure we continue to provide an excellent education for these most desperate children; education is seen as a route out of poverty and is the basic right of every child. Any donation to our Education Fund will make a massive difference to these children and will benefit every child in some way. |
