Welcome To The Lunchbowl Network

The Lunchbowl Network was set up in 2006 in response to the plight of the orphaned and vulnerable children in the Kibera slum Nairobi.

Since then we have helped to regularly feed and take care of 450 orphaned and vulnerable children who through no fault of their own, find themselves living in abject poverty, without sanitation, water and medication. The situation is compounded by an extreme lack of food together with the emotional loss of their parents. Their nutritional needs have been hugely impacted by daily provision of hot food from Lunchbowl and in addition we have helped to fund emergency medical needs and play equipment. Most importantly, we now have a dedicated team of 70 carers, all mothers living in the Kibera, who voluntarily look after these orphaned and vulnerable children on a daily basis within their extended households.

The Lunchbowl Network also provides a rescue programme for vulnerable girls and boys who are at a very high risk of abuse. These children are individually sponsored and now recieve an education at schools where they can flourish and be given hope for their future.

From November 2012 we have expanded our food programme further and now feed 70 street children in Blantyre, Malawi.

The Lunchbowl Network operates completely on a voluntary basis and consequently an impressive 97% of all money raised goes direct to the orphaned and vulnerable children of Kenya and Malawi.
